DANSON MANAGEMENT CONFIRMED
Following the club’s AGM and subsequent discussions, it has been decided that Josh Waddell and Dave Kersey will joint manage both Danson Albion teams.
Waddell says “It is the right time to try and integrate the two teams and having this management structure will enable this integration. Not only will this be a benefit to the teams training sessions, it will get everybody pulling in the same direction which has unfortunately not always been the case over the past two seasons. All players will be registered to both teams which will give us more flexibility and hopefully greater success”.

Questions will inevitably be forthcoming with regards to what happens when both teams are playing simultaneously. Waddell continued “There were eight occasions last season where both teams played at the same time, predominantly at the beginning of the season. Dave and I will be splitting who goes where dependant upon the matches and needs of the teams. We have also registered the club in an additional cup competition – the London FA Junior Cup and a mixture of the squads will be selected to compete in this tournament”
Dave Kersey, who co-founded the club, is now ready to step up and take on extra responsibility. Kersey says "Obviously I'm delighted with my appointment and the extra responsibility associated with it. When I was first approached I was unsure whether it was the right move for the club, but after much deliberation decided that I can help the club progress as a whole."
Waddell first informed the squads of the potential move during the AGM a fortnight ago. Kersey explains "One reason the decision has taken so long is that I wanted to make sure it was the correct structure as a whole for the club. As joint managers I believe it could potentially be a match made in heaven. With Josh's current management expertise and my tactical nous coupled with our passion for the game, we can really push the club forward. As everyone associated with the club knows I give my all in games and it will be no different in this role. We will be looking for the same commitment from every player that pulls on a Danson Albion shirt.
"As a founder member and player, the past few years at the club have been great to be involved with. We look forward to building on the achievements of the past and having success with both teams, as the true Danson Albion it was originally intended to be"
