ED PEARCE - 16/01/89

Ed begun the season in fine form as first choice right back and was rewarded by being handed the armband as Standen was withdrawn against Crofton Albion in September. After missing the win over Bullers, Ed found himself on the bench and his attitude thereafter was questioned by Preston as Ed went AWOL for two consecutive weeks. He paid his price as an unused sub in Danson's next two games but, after showing more dedication, returned for the home league match with Shamrock in a new position in holding midfield. However, Pearce's questionable commitment saw him axed from team selection after failing to arrive for the Invitation Cup match with Centaurs in which Danson were forced to start with 10 men.

JOSH WADDELL - 25/10/84 20 QUESTIONS CLICK HERE

The season started disastorously for Waddell who damaged ankle ligaments in the first friendly and returned after a month only to re-aggravate the injury in the seasons first league match. Waddell finally returned to the team as they travelled to Bullers in the MWS where the team kept a clean sheet and since he has not looked back reatining his place in defence before being pushed into attack for the MWS Quarter Final defeat. Waddell returned to defence versus Centaurs as Danson won 5 games on a trot partnered by Hewitt and Pike before the cup final where two goals were not enough to earn his team victory.

BILL STANDEN - 03/06/85

Bill's injury troubles reared their ugly head again at the beginning of the season as he was forced to watch his team-mates from the sidelines. The captain made a scoring return during the 3-0 win over Eltham Town Res. leading to the headline 'Ze Masetro is back'. Although his form dipped somehwat during October, two captains performances against Inter Shamrock saw the Standen we know and love return. Missed Danson's impressive 3-1 win over Ship Aground that prevented them winning the title and was unused in Albion's next match as they cruised to victory. Returned to the centre for Danson's last three matches where he put in another MOTM performance at SE Lions before his free kick took the cup final to extra time and penlaties where he notched the 1st.

DEAN CAIRNS - 15/10/85

Deano joined the club at the beginning of the 07/08 season from Inter One side Centaurs. Cairns played once for the club last in 06/07 and joined on a full time basis in the summer. After a shaky first game against AFC Eltham, Dean has progressed under the watchful eye of manager Gary Preston and has improved as the season has worn on making some crucial saves including two penalty stops in the Invitation Cup final.

GARY PRESTON - DD/MM/YY

Manager Gary Preston brings a wealth of experience to the team and his ability to fill in for Cairns when required is a real plus. Formerly of Welling United, Preston continues to defy the medics with a number of outings this season including against Bullers in the MWS ending with a clean sheet. Preston demands perfection from his team and does not hold back from telling them if they are not performing.

MATT LONGVILLE - 03/05/85

Longville begun the season in fine goalscoring form notching 7 goals before the turn of the year compared to just 3 in his entire first season. Longville was rested during the teams only loss in two months in November and featured in every match thereafter forming a powerful midfield partnership with Standen, arguably the teams biggest strength. Suffered a dry spell in front of goal as Albion reverted to 4-4-2 with Longville not having the protection of the holding midfielder, however continued to impress and scored crucial goals at the year end in Dansons victory over Ship Aground and in the cup final, which will linger in the memory of the mdifielder whose missed penalty would have won it for his team. Longville is sure to return more determined, a daunting prospect for the rest of the LKB.

GAVIN LILLEY - 14/11/80

Gavin regained his place in the team at the beginning of the season first at centre back and then at left back, after a freak injury ruled him out of the first league matches. Gav's versatility coupled with his dedication to all things DAFC mean he is one Danson's most dependable squad members. His ability and bravery in the air is a strong point when defending set pieces and although Lilley once again finished the season in and out of the team he put in an impressive display at left back replacing Hawkes in the cup final.

JAMIE ROBINSON - 22/07/85 - 20 QUESTIONS CLICK HERE

Robinson found himself in, out and back in the team during the first half of the season. His first goal of the season came in the first pre-season match but Robinson did not add to this goal for three months and following some indifferent performances was used from the substitutes bench during October. Robinsons determination to regain his starting place coupled with his undeniable ability earnt him a recall in November and his attitude and improved performances lead to him being awarded the Novembers Player of the Month. Robinson has improved the ugly side of his game this year and his goal at the Valley will live in the memory as he seeks pastures new next term.

SIMON NEILL - 08/09/84

Simon started the season as he finished the last, in fine goalscoring form including a superb brace in the friendly with Shamrock. Although his goalscoring form dipped Simon has been a regular in the team and has been utilised as the central striker on a couple of occassions as well as wide left. Injury has seen Si miss the last few matches of 2007and he used the winter break as a chance to regain his fitness and place in the team. Si returned in February and retained his lace thereafter picking up his goalscoring form notching 5 in the teams last 7 outings to take him into double figures.

MATT PIKE - 01/02/85

Pike's early season form was furstrating by his own admission and he reliquished the armband handed to him in Standen's absence to concentrate on his own game. Since, Pike form has been consistently good and in November Pike also had a purple patch at the other end scoring three goals in as many games, the most impressive a 30 yard shot that found the top left corner during Danson's defeat to Harverton en route to picking up November's player of the month award. Returned after mssing three matches in Albion's semi final where he helped the team to a clean sheet before a final to forget as he saw two penalties saved.

NAS HARRIS - 20/06/85

Harris' goal scoring record continues to impress with 20 goals this season, more then last season, to lead the all time top scorer charts. Harris can often be criticised of missing chances but his skill, pace and guile make him Danson's most dangerous attacking outlet. Nas picked up an injury in early November missing two games but has reclaimed his no.9 shirt and will look to fire Danson to glory next year. Harris hit his first hat-trick for the club away to Germains and scored twice as Albion were knocked out in the Quarter Finals of the MWS. Doubts harber over his future, a daunting thought of a player who is almost irreplaceable.

DAVE KERSEY - 13/07/85 - 20 QUESTIONS CLICK HERE

DK's work commitments continue to be a thorn in his side as he earns a starting berth and is forced to relinquish his position. DK started the season in the holding midfield role, his preferred position where he can break up attacks and allow his fellow midfielders the chance to get forward. A useful option frfom the bench when Danson look to shut up shop DK can also operate at right back. Will be happy with his 17 apperances this season despite being unused in the cup final and will look to improve on that tally once more next term and finally get on the scoresheet.

JON WAYMENT - 15/05/85

Wizzle has found himself in, out and back in the team this season after being a regular in his first season with the club. The partnership of Longville and Standen meant Wizzle was amongst the substitutes for a month or so, his best contrinution from the bench coming in the league away match with Shamock where he opened the scoring playing up front. Wizzle was rewarded for his patience and attitude and his versatility was called upon as he played two matches at right back before taking up a free role in December. Wayment returned strongly to the line up with a MOTM display against Ship Aground and his performances made him a shoe in for the run in, now operating on the right of midfield.

BEN HAWKES - 20/05/85

Ben has been a regular at left back this year with a string of consistent performances. Work commitments saw Hawkes miss the teams four matches in November. Hawkes returned and notched his first goal in Danson colours against Petts Wood in January. With a combination of postponed matches and unavilability Hawkes missed almost two months of football but played a key role in the run in helping his team progress to the Invitation Cup final.

SATH NIRMALANANTHAN - 23/08/85

Sath's commitment to the Danson cause earnt him the Managers Player of the Year award last year but so far this year Sath's work commitments have left appearances few and far bewteen as he struggles to make training on a regular basis. Preston and Clench have both used Sath this season as his versatility is a key component in any squad. Sath nearly got amongst the goals as a secon half sub against Harverton in the Senior Cup but his final touch let him down! A recent operation has made him unavailable and coupled with his work commitments saw him disappear from the Albion. Sath will always be welcome back with open arms at DAFC.

BRAD HUNT - 17/12/85 - 20 QUESTIONS CLICK HERE

Brad joined the club at the begiining of 07/08 and has contributed both off and on the pitch throughout the season. Hunt has played in the holding midfield role and in 2008 at right back and has a big determination to win. Hunt notched his first DAFC goal in the 5-2 win at Crofton Albion with a left footed shot from the edge of the area. Brad missed the MWS win over Bullers and when Preston reverted back to a 4-4-2 found himself on the bench but continued to work hard in training and from the bench and earnt his recall away to AFC Eltham, starting all of Danson's matches thereafter including at centre back. His form blossomed in the run in and his confidence was evident when he made no mistake with his kick in the shootout.

JUSTIN HOLLOWAY - 29/05/90

Justin joined the club in the summer and his technical ability makes him a very good option for Preston who has used Justin from the start and from the bench on the right hand side. Holloway notched his first goals during the teams 3-2 away victory at AFC Eltham where his early double earnt Danson the points and Justin the MOTM award. Holloway has made the right wing his own towards the end of the season before dropping to the bench during the semi final and final. A solid first season for Albion's youngest team member who has also featured for Clench's reserve side.

KENNY WEED - 29/03/84

Kenny joined Hunt and Holloway in a treble-signing by the club in the summer of 07 and provides competition in attack, something Danson lacked during their debut campaign. Weed suffered a long wait before his first goal and found himslef amongst the subs for the clubs first league games. Impressive in a hard working display against SE Lions, an indifferent perfomance away to Shamrock in the league saw Weed back on the bench. Ironically it was away to Shamrock again where Weed broke his duck hitting his first goals in a 5-2 win and earning the MOTM award. After going AWOL, Weed returned to the club in April and started all of the teams final matches with a number of goals including a record four in an amazing display at Bacons College.
