JOSH WADDELL - 25/10/84 20 QUESTIONS CLICK HERE

The founder and chairman of the club, Waddell now finds himself back at the helm after Preston’s summer departure. Waddell has played up front for Danson and scored 6 goals in 3 games back in 2006 including a hat-trick against Ship Aground, but has since moved back to his favoured position at centre back. Scored two goals in the cup final en route to earning the Managers Player of the Year ward for 2007/08, Waddell hopes the team can succeed as he leads DAFC into the new season

JOINED 2006

BILL STANDEN - 03/06/85

Club captain Standen is another original and brings experience and power to central midfield. Having spent his entire junior career at Long Lane, Standen is a loyal member of the team and has appeared in goal on occasions Danson have been missing their usual stopper. Standen is Danson’s third top goal scorer and took last season’s cup final to extra time with a last minute free kick. Dominant in the air Standen continues to be a key man both on and off the pitch.

MATT LONGVILLE - 03/05/85

Another club founder and arguably Danson’s finest player, Longville is Albion’s record appearance holder, playing pre-dominantly in central midfield. The number 12 hit nine goals last season en route to winning the coveted Players Player of the Year award. His disappointment at the seasons finale, where he missed a penalty in the cup final shootout, should see Longville more determined to win some silverware this season and his performances will go a long way in determining how Danson fair this season.

GAVIN LILLEY - 14/11/80

One of the original members of the team, Lilley captained the side in it’s first few months before relinquishing the armband to Standen. Lilley has played at centre back and left back but this season has started in a more advanced role in defensive midfield, protecting the back four well during pre-season. Still searching for his first goal, Lilley will assist manager Waddell this season and is one of Danson’s most dedicated players.

JOINED 2006

SIMON NEILL - 08/09/84

On his day Neill can be a real attacking force as Napoli found out during pre-season. The left footer has one of the best footballing brains in the team but his quiet manner can make him frustrated when good runs go unnoticed. Hit five in Albion’s last seven games last season as the team ended in good form. The club’s second top goal scorer, this season will be the biggest yet for Neill who looks set to enjoy more freedom then previously given.

JOINED 2006

MATT PIKE - 01/02/85

An Albion stalwart, Pike has been one of the clubs most consistent performers since they formed in 2006. Having played predominantly at centre back, Pike has notched 54 appearances and scored 8 goals, the pick of the bunch a 30 yard belter into the top corner during last seasons trip to Harverton United. After missing two penalties in the cup final and pondering his options in the summer Pike pledged his future to the team, a real bonus for the club that all love Matthew Pikewell.

JOINED 2006

NAS HARRIS - 20/06/85

Harris joined the club during its formation and is arguably Albion’s best ever addition. Harris leads the goal scoring chart by some margin now approaching 50 goals and continues to cause havoc among opposition defences, hitting four against Napoli in pre-season, hopefully en route to another 20 goal season. Earned the Players Player of the Year award in his first season with the club, Harris has settled in well to become one of the teams most popular members

DAVE KERSEY - 13/07/85 - 20 QUESTIONS CLICK HERE

One of the club’s founder members Kersey has been in and out of the team since its birth, appearing in half of Albion’s games. The tough tackler’s work commitments see him miss one game a month which makes it difficult to retain any consistency but the number 16’s love for the club coupled with his versatility makes him a valuable squad member as he can play across the back four as well as in central midfield.

JOINED 2006

JON WAYMENT - 15/05/85

Wayment joined the club alongside Hawkes upon formation in 2006 and has proved a valuable signing. ‘Wizzle’ has played in centre and right midfield, right back and up front and his tenacity and determination make him a thorn in the side of opposition. His inability to keep a lid on it can also make him a thorn in his team-mates side! Notched two penalties in the cup final and will look to cement a place in the team this season after being in and out for large chunks last year.

JOINED 2006

BEN HAWKES - 20/05/85

Hawkes has been at the club since formation having Primary School connections with Waddell. Hawkes has been another consistent performer for Danson at left back although work commitments have forced him to miss matches sporadically.  Ben broke his Danson duck with a goal in the MWS 3rd round tie with Petts Wood last year and will hope to make the number 3 shirt his own again this year

JOINED 2006

JUSTIN HOLLOWAY - 29/05/90

Danson’s youngest player Holloway joined the club alongside Brad Hunt in the summer of 2007. A pacey and bright right winger his finest performance to date came in the 3-2 away win at AFC Eltham last season where Justin exploded onto the scene with a quickfire long range brace. New to adult football, Holloway has occasionally found himself on the bench as he continues to develop and if he can take his performance levels against the bottom teams to when they play the top, tougher teams Holloway will be a real star for Albion giving them another dimension as their only real out and out winger

JOINED 2007

KENNY WEED - 29/03/84

Weed is another who joined the club in the summer of 2007 to provide competition in attack. His Danson career got off to a slow start and appeared to become the forgotten man at first but two goals in the second round MWS win at Inter Shamrock saw Kenny stamp his mark at the club. Weed’s work rate and refusal to give in make him a striker defenders hate to mark and his goals took Albion to the cup final last year as he hit four away to Bacons College and ended his first season with a solid ratio of 11 goals in 15 starts. Unfortunately injury will rule him out for the first few months of the season.
